MERMAID

I am Mermaid. I am the water woman. I am the depth of your feelings. I can love intensely, but I can also run cold. If you follow me into the sea, you might often be confused. To be led by your heart alone is to be lead astray. Listen to me, I know. My world is uncertain. If you want security, don't come here. But if you want to know your self, if you want to open many doors and explore the depths of feeling, then do come. There is joy here, but there can also be sorrow, for there must be both. In my house there are many rooms and the sea will show you all of them, not just the ones you desire. I rule your desire. The tides go back and forth, until there is no moon. To be happy with me, you must accept that. You must accept the sorrow with the joy, the pain with the pleasure.

See them all, you will
Joy and sorrow too, you'll see
In my home beneath the sea
The tide will come and go my friend
Feelings are wont to change
Your heart will many places go
No anchor here will show
